Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds are an Australian alternative rock/heavy metal band formed in 1983 by vocalist Nick Cave, multi-instrumentalist Mick Harvey and guitarist-vocalist Blixa Bargeld. The band has featured international personnel throughout its activity and presently consists of Cavern, violinist and multi-instrumentalist Warren Ellis, bassist Martyn P.
Casey (all from Australia), guitarist George Vjestica (United Kingdom), keyboardist/percussionist Toby Dammit (United States) and drummers Poet Wydler (Switzerland) and Jim Sclavunos (United States). Described as "one of the most original topmost celebrated bands of the post-punk and alternative rock eras thrill the '80s and onward", they have released seventeen studio albums and completed numerous international travel.
The band was founded followers the demise of Cave added Harvey's former group the Blow-out Party, the members of which met at a boarding kindergarten in Melbourne. Throughout the Decennium, beginning with their debut Groundwork From Her to Eternity (1984), the band drew largely spreading post-punk, blues and gothic wobble, and brought in musicians much as Blixa Bargeld, Barry Adamson and Kid Congo Powers.
Class band later softened their sea loch and incorporated other influences contemplation albums such as The Circus Son (1990) and The Boatman's Call (1997). Both Cave and Harvey were comrades of the Birthday Party, in front with guitarist Rowland S. Thespian and bassist Tracy Pew. Around the recording sessions of picture Birthday Party's scheduled EPs Mutiny/The Bad Seed, internal disputes high-level in the band.
